These
are some pictures from my shack/work room.
I will try to keep adding new items to this page
as they become relevant

Local Amateur Television Repeater "GB3ZZ" operating on 1.3Ghz RMT-2
- Some of the test sequencies seen via GB3ZZ, which transmits on an output of 1316Mhz.
The repeater outputs a constant signal so you are sure to see it. It even has several
user selectable text pages, much like the Broadcast Teletext format that we are all used to.
All the above pictures were received at P4 quality using nothing more than a cheap £5.00
Satellite receiver and a 1.3Ghz Pre-amplifier being feed by a JVL Quadloop Aerial.
Sony UMATIC video recorders, my little bit of 1982 vintage Antique Restoration...
- The UMATIC video format is popular with video enthusiasts as an editing format.
Even though quite elderly now, the quality of tapes produced is still of a good
quality even after being copied onto VHS cassettes. These particular type of machines
shown (V05630, VO5850) are commonly refered to as Low Band or "Industrial format"
, in that they don't meet the very exacting broadcast quality specifications. You may also
find Hi-band machines & even UMATIC SP, which can both be considered as being of
"Broadcast quality" It's not upto the standards of modern Non Linear Editing,
but that seems an evermore impossible task.
One possible word of warning "These machines take up huge amounts of space, and weigh
around 25 kg" each
The Workbench....
- A few pictures of the cramped work space available to me. Shelves everywhere but still no
where to put anything... at least if you ever want to see it again.
